Day 3 - Fajozes to Arcos - 10 miles
We thought today would be a short 6-mile day but somehow it turned into 10 miles. There were lots of interesting sights to investigate and sometimes there were suggested detours for more scenic routes. All these added up by the end of the day!
We started off the day with breakfast in the grand dining room of the old villa/bed and breakfast where we spent the previous night.
Then we set off at a much slower pace than the past few days. Pam was suffering from a couple of blisters and a very sore pinky toe. She broke out the hiking poles we brought, just in case, and carried on.
We finally made it out into the countryside after a lot of city and urban walking. It felt great to see green fields. Along the way we stopped at a typical pilgrim hostel in a former monetary that also housed a Camino museum. While we were there we got to see their sparse accommodations.
