Sunday in Lisbon
We went to high Mass in Lisbon's cathedral on Sunday morning. They used generous amounts of incense that slowly drifted up through the sunlight peeking through the windows. It was a moving service. The sanctuary, still decorated in Easter flowers, was quite beautiful.
Later we hiker up to Sao Jorge (St. George) Castle which overlooks Lisbon.
The views were stunning of the city below.

It was another on and off again rainy day later in the afternoon. But that didn’t stop us from sightseeing. One beautiful place we saw was the square at Largo Santa Luzia. It would have been a grand place to relax for a bit if it wasn’t so wet.

Then we walked through the narrow and twisty streets of the Alfama neighborhood.
One interesting thing we found was a modern and surrealist take on the traditional azulejo tiles.
